Presented by Australian Prostate Cancer Research in conjunction with the 17th Asia-Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference, Lake Imaging is proud to sponsor the Men's Health Update for General Practitioners. This workshop is complimentary for all GPs and will run on Saturday 3rd of September at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
This series of lectures and interactive sessions is aimed at GP's from all backgrounds, with the following important men's health topics being presented:
- ‘Heading for success’ an interactive erectile dysfunction management workshop.
- ‘The heart of men – a cardiovascular update’ risk stratification for the well man, and cardiac testing.
- ‘Prostate cancer – keeping up to date in 2016’ case studies: new testing guidelines, new pathology grading system, active surveillance and the GP, MRI, hormone therapy and GPs.
- ‘Depression- I don’t want to take medication Doc!’ a non-pharmacological approach to management in general practice, tips and resources for GPs, and a mindfulness session.
- ‘The bare bones’ Osteoporosis in Men, including tips for exercise prescription.

Adjunct Professor, School of Primary Health Care, Monash University, Melbourne An experienced clinician and NHMRC Senior Research Fellow, Professor Dixon is known globally for his breadth of clinical research into obesity and its comorbid conditions as well as weight loss treatments and their effects on health. He is rated in the top 10 researchers worldwide in the fields of obesity; morbid obesity; bariatrics; and bariatric surgery (expertscape.com, April 2016).
Emily Irwin. Intimacy Consultant, Independent Consultant
Emily Irwin is an intimacy consultant specialising in sexual aids and sexual wellbeing. She assists clients in finding rehabilitative and pleasurable products. Emily is completing her Graduate Diploma of Psychology and attends observer placement at Monash Health’s Sexual Medicine and Therapy Clinic. Additionally, Emily teaches and performs as an aerialist
Dr Andrew Ryan. Pathologist, TissuPath
Andrew Ryan is a pathologist at TissuPath in Melbourne. He has a special interest in uropathology with extensive clinical and collaberative research experience.
This program is suitable for all General Practitioners regardless of their experience or where they practice.
