Darling Downs Radiology Boosts it Services with Multimillion Dollar Investment

The Doctors and Staff at Darling Downs Radiology are committed to providing the highest quality, fully comprehensive diagnostic imaging service to the people of the Toowoomba and Darling Downs regions.  A new multimillion dollar investment will ensure the local Toowoomba community now has access to the latest state of the art technology and services at a brand new location.

The new expanded facility will be located at 70 Neil Street and the upgrade and enhancement to our services will reduce waiting times and improve the patient access and experience in a growing population.

New services will include a 1.5T and 3T MRI making Darling Downs Radiology the first in the region to provide a high end 3T MRI service for the community.  3T MRI scanners deliver very detailed and accurate images and will provide significant advancement in the detection of prostate cancer, as well as diagnosing a range of medical, surgical and paediatric conditions.  With patient comfort and safety being a key priority, the new MRI systems also have faster scan times, reduced noise and a wider opening to help patients suffering from claustrophobia.  Dr Allan Lu has commented this is one of the most advanced MRI scanners and the overall investment will be a significant boost to local health services.  Clinical Director Sally Sojan commented “Our radiologists and staff have a wealth of experience across a full range of imaging modalities and are committed to providing superior service, the highest quality medical imaging expertise and the most accurate and timely diagnosis for patients,”.

The new Darling Downs facility will also have a latest 128 slice low dose CT, SPECT CT, ultrasound, general and dental x-ray services.
